This is way overdue.  Someone needs to bring suits against the big chain shops that sell these unhealthy, abused dogs from puppy mills.  Hit them with a lawsuit and hopefully it will dissuade other petshops from buying from puppy mills, too.  We need to put these places out of business.   From the HSUS site:

Puppy Mill in NC Raided

The Humane Society of the United States and local authorities raided a puppy mill in North Carolina this week, rescuing almost 300 dogs from the horrible conditions and confinement they had been living in.
